Oct. 27 - Foxwoods Cash games BS

Quick post here to put some feelings on paper to get them out of me. Grinded 2/4 limit at foxwoods for second day with a buddy. We both usually play no limit but with tight bankrolls for this trip we both decided to try limit for the first time at foxwoods with good results.

I played some damn good cards considering how cold i ran. I had AA, KK and QQ all cracked (qq twice). My big hand finally comes when i flop top set TTT in a 5 way pot. The turn brought a J and the river brought a 2 filling me up. Now i only lose to pocket Jacks or pocket 2s with no other draws hitting. The biggest pot of the night at mytable, almost 140 at 2/4 is HUGE!, and sure enough the villain hit his set of Jacks on the turn to have an Jacks full of 2s to take down my Tens full of 2s. Brutal. Even after losing ALL of my premium hands and losing this monster pot i still left the table up about $40.

After these heartbreakers and a newly discovered loathing for 2/4 limit poker i decide to take my $80 to $1/2 NLHE and hopefully have a nice run there before leaving for the night. My fifth hand at NL theres a raise from a mid pos. player who had already showed prelfop aggression. I look down at 99 in the CO. Withoput aenough of a stack to call the bet for set value i decide to take control and become the aggressor by shovuing all in for $80, a very unlikely movefor me, super aggressive for my style. Without much delay the indian fellow who raised called my $80 all in preflop, he himself only playing with $200 or so. I flip immediately asking the other players hand. Lucky for me he doesnt have any high cards and i even have a higher pair he tells me! Flop is AKx and sureenoigh im still alive. The turn is a 4 and the river flips an 8. he already told me he didnt have the A, K or a better pocket pair. At an 80 percent favorite, 4 to 1 odds to double up, im thrilled nutil he reveals his pocket 8s as he rivered a set to take down my 9s. Semi steamed i reload only to lose a small pot Heads up to a gentleen who check calls a pot sized bet of $25 on the river with four diamond on the board and he didnt make a flush. He called pot with two pair but not a single diamond. How does anyplayer check/call a pot sized bet with 4 diamonds on the board and not one in the hole!?!?!?!? Well needless to say my QJhh was no good ebven with top pair and a good bluff on the 4th diamond on the river.

I didnt leave withthe monetary results i wanted but still left feeling damn good about the cards i played all night. i didnt even need luck, i just needed not to get unlucky. I lost four key hands including the full house and the hand with the diamonds and my 99 v 88. All in all i was 3 to four nbad beats from walking out with nearly 400 in my pocket. Close but no cigar. But i will return to foxwoods, oh yes, i will!....
