Short field of 28 vied for $400 in GTD prizes tonight at Super Dragon! Many players at EPT SOMAs highest GTD weekly event enjoyed a final tune up before tomorrows November POTM event at the German Club in Walpole!

Of the 28 players, 4 hailed from the RI region and all earned top 16 points tonight! Irishman Brendan McGinn was the first to exit in 12th while Thomas Walsh bubbled the FT in 10th. Even with just 2 players at the FT table it was a RI regional player who walked home with top honors tonight!

George Landry stretched his early short stack into a final table appearance but was ground out in 9th. Sue Borel proudly signed out 8th, her 2nd FT appearance in 2 events! "Action Mike" Poulin enjoyed some FT play, and grew his stack, before finally finishing 7th. Paul White also found himself short on chips and with ship/fold on his mind he lost his final flip 6 handed.

5 handed kicked off with hot action as James Hall held pocket 5s in position on a JJ55x board, 3 handed to the river. With bet and a call in front of him, Hall jammed it all in. A fold by the original better, followed by a call from Joseph Nolin, proved a key hand for Hall while significantly crippling Nolin, who looked him up with pocket 9s. It wasnt long after Nolin was down to his final 2 BBs before busting 5th. Down to 1 RI player.

Hall played a quiet and tough game but fast paced 4 handed action took its toll. Hall lost several key hands, especially in blind on blind situations v. 7 time winner Ed Haworth. Both players doubled thru each other but, after recently doubling up Debbie Carafa, it was Haworths rivered Qh flush that delivered the crippling blow. Hall soon signed out 4th.

Ray Chuavin pushed the pace 3 handed while Carafa enjoyed timely double ups to keep her stack growing. Ed Haworth played an aggresive 3 handed game and finally Carafa had him covered when she called his all in with her Ax. She was happy to see Q4ss but still had to sweat a spade on the river before busting Eddy in 3rd. So Carafa, tonights Bounty, was HU with, EPT RI last man standing, Ray Chauvin.

Carafa used timely raises and 3 betts, and a lil table talk to her advantage to even up the stacks vs. Chauvin. Both hungry for top prize tonight, Chauvin spared no time in regaining the chip lead. When he did the trap was set v the aggressive bounty Debbie Carafa.A button limp was raised by bb Carafa, Chauvin followed up with an re-raise all in of his own! With everything on line Carafa got it all in with a call only to find her Ax behind to Chauvins pocket Tens! Chauvin was delighted when he need only dodge an Ace on the river to take it down. So Debbie Carafa respectably finished 2nd, while RI regional player Ray Chauvin drove home with EPT SOMAs weeekly top prize, tonights bounty bonus points, and his second win in 8 events since championship weekend!

Directors note: Tomorrow and Sat Jan 18th are the November and December POTM events, respectively. These events feature a $5K GTD prizepool and a chance to instantly become a wild card qualifier for the Season 21 $36k Televeised Event! Were only 10 days into Jan and this POTM race is just starting to heat up! Good luck this weekend EPT SOMA representatives!
