The entire tournament was played extremely well by all players. "Cooler" hand of the night and quite possibly the season, was the first hand of the tournament between William Landry and Jerry Beasoleil. Flop came out Kh 10h 7c ... Jerry checks out of position to Bill's bet then calls the pot size bet... the board pairs the 10 on the turn. Jerry checks then Bill bets another pot size bet to Jerry's call. The river is a Qh to finish a possible straight or flush. Jerry bets out all of a sudden, Bill Landry goes all in to Jerry's IMMEDIATE CALL. Bill shows Q - Q for a rivered a full house while Jerry flips over K - K ... who was happily sitting on top set, then top full house the entire time! Crazy hand, especially for the first one of the night!
The final table finished up like:
FIRST PLACE JIM GARDNER
2. William Spadea
3. Alfredy Perez
4. Jon Caparso
5. Christian Percevecz
6. Jason Bolton
7. James Poirier Jr.
8. Emilio Tuilipano
9. Nada Smith
10. Jerry Beausoleil
Top 3 went back and forth for quite a while and all three players decided that instead of going home with nothing, they would rather chop up the cash value of the WSOP Academy seat and play it out for the extra $1,111- incentive that is a 1 in 27 shot in the $30K Championship Finals. The player who wins the battle get's an automatic bye into the 27 person finals of the 30K Championship! That person would end up being Jim Gardner from Bellingham, MA!! Jim took home $800- of the chopped up prize pool and also will be playing on TV for the $30,000 against the other 26 players to be determined very soon!!!
Start accumulating those "wins" as hard as they are to come by and you can also play in this min-tournament for the $4,000 WSOP ACADEMY PACKAGE and the instant "bye" into the finals of the $30K Championship! New season started September 4th!
